In 2014 when I turned 60 on January 1st, I had the bright idea that I would do a journal quilt once a week. I made it through 10 weeks and then dropped the project. Now that I am in the last year of my 60’s, I am determined to complete the project or at least add to it. I named the series “In the Moment in My Sixties”. Each quilt represents what was on my mind the day I made it.
On the day I made “In the Moment in My Sixties #9”, I am focused on hope. Hope is necessary on your darkest days, but on this day it seems I am just hoping India graduates! She did.
The quilt is embellished with charms, buttons and words.
The back of the quilt is a blue African print. There is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.
I signed it on the front.
