In 2014 when I turned 60 on January 1st, I had the bright idea that I would do a journal quilt once a week. I made it through 10 weeks and then dropped the project. Now that I am in the last year of my 60’s, I am determined to complete the project or at least add to it. I named the series “In the Moment in My Sixties”. Each quilt represents what was on my mind the day I made it.
“In the Moment in My Sixties #6” celebrates Valentine’s Day, and I am thinking about all the people I love. Their names are written in my handwriting on the quilt. The quilt is red and white, not only because it’s Valentine’s Day, but also because I love red and white quilts.
The quilt is embellished with charms, buttons and words. I hand quilted it with love and signed and dated it on the front.
The back of the quilt is a red and white hearts print. There is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.
