In 2014 when I turned 60 on January 1st, I had the bright idea that I would do a journal quilt once a week. I made it through 10 weeks and then dropped the project. Now that I am in the last year of my 60’s, I am determined to complete the project or at least add to it. I named the series “In the Moment in My Sixties”. Each quilt represents what was on my mind the day I made it.
On the day I made “In the Moment in My Sixties #13, I am excited about Halloween. I love dressing up for trick or treat, and I always have the best chocolate candy for the trick or treaters.
The Halloween fabrics make the message of the quilt is clear, but in case you missed it, I appliquéd the word “Boo” in large letters on the front of the quilt. The quilt is machine quilted in a cross hatch pattern on my Janome sewing machine.
The back of the quilt is a black and white fabric. There is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.
I signed it on the front and added a charm that says “Sexy and Sixty.”
