That beautiful space where the forest opens up into the meadow. The light pierces through the leaves in little puddles while other areas remain hidden in shadow. This is the place where the meadowlark sings.

This painting was created in the studio from a reference photo taken in Door County. I created this painting during a live interview with Shayla Reeves of WCCO-TV when I was interviewed on location at the Midtown Global Market where I was the artist in residence for 2 months in early 2025. Shayla helped make a few strokes of paint.
