This lone tree has withstood the harsh winds and waves of the Lake Michigan coastline, all while having to push its roots down through the cracks in the rocks. You can tell by how small some of the branches are that the tree suffered some difficult years where growth was hard. But it keeps standing strong and doing its thing. The sheer tenacity of this tree inspires me!
