PAINTING - I have painted the landscape in a portrait format to capture the the sense of weight, the power of distance from the underground caves through the endless land to the sky, building up and going on forever.

BACKGROUND - Newly married city girl catapulted into a vast alien landscape, living in a tent.
Now remembering that outback palette and alien shapes, confronting vastness of the land and sky. Sitting over deep underground caves and trying to make a home in a little clump of stunted trees.
Hawks hunting scouring the land for food. At least once a day we would see a majestic wedge-tailed eagle (the largest bird of prey in Australia).
Past the horizon, dust, heat haze and wedge-tailed eagle - hover - and dance in unison.
