Nordic Lords on their thrones overlook the Buffalo National River as if to show that as grand as the Buffalo is even in drought conditions, the white bluffs are greater still. They laugh at the large rolled bales of hay that dare not look up to such great power.
This is the first of three rivers of the United States put on the national landmark registry. Though at times the Buffalo is a diminutive shallow stony creek. Here even in a dry summer it is full and wide, constant and land shaping.
I found this scene from a trail behind one the Buffalo's Collier homestead. It isn't a secret anymore.
