Calaquita #43. Full face mask used in performances by Arizona theater and dance companies. It has eyes outlined in large green leaf-like shapes with silver, gold, and purple gems on each leaf. A purple heart with a blue gem inside is at the center of the forehand. Above it is a yellow dot and two green dots on each side, and under the heart is a V-shaped blue design. The nose is a pale purple the teeth are outlined in pale purple and dark pink. The cheeks have yellow, blue, and pink V-shaped swirl designs, and the chin has blue, yellow, purple, and pink designs with a green circle at the center.
It is made of plaster bandage and paper clay, painted with acrylic paints and ribbon, which ties the mask to the performer.
These masks are part of the Performance Collection, which contains pieces available for loan to use in community and artistic performances.
