Nectar

Azalea blossoms have always been one of my favorite flowers. This painting was done from a photo I took in my yard and executed in the studio while a student was taking a lesson. We had discussed painting flowers up close and personal. I had not inspected the photo closely until then... and there were those bees! I was inspired! I can remember planting many different varieties of azaleas, and it has informed many of the feelings and memories of the azalea flowers. I know these types of things help me create a better painting!
