"Country Path" is a 9" x 12" pastel painting done on an Ampersand Pastelbord. This is a scene from Blue Ridge, GA and is the drive I take to our cabin along the Toccoa River. I have painted this scene in oil and it has already sold. Trees and a pathway of some kind intrigue me to see what is around the bend in that pathway... whether it is a foot path, a road, a driveway, or a stream or river! It is always fun to try colors that are not exactly the "local" color, meaning the color most people see when looking at the object or scene. But, I want you to still feel like the scene you are looking at seems to be the "real" color! I want your brain and your feelings engaged and participating in putting in the details I am only hinting at also! I think that makes for a much more intriguing painting.
