This Plastic Space or “Plasticism” abstract painting captures the rhythm of a musician as he performs rich cultural music. The dancer behind him performs her artistic rhythmic dancing with sweeping motions reminiscent of flamenco dancers. Musical notes, instruments, and rich cultural elements swirl around them. This painting began as a sketch in graphite with the musician only. It was while actually painting on the canvas in oils that the dancer was added. Working on balance and color is critical and this painting took a while to complete, about a month.
