I portray a modern homage to Ivory Coast mask traditions through my Plasticism approach. Two vertical panels interlock with geometric planes and flowing curves to form a stylized face—almond eyes, an elongated triangular nose, and carved patterning rendered in warm ochres and rich browns set against a deep black field. Bright ribbons of teal, red and yellow weave through the composition, adding rhythmic contrast and visual movement. Surfaces shift between smooth gradients and textured motifs, suggesting worn wood and polished patina while staying firmly abstract.
This diptych presents cultural motifs as simplified forms and layered planes, rewarding both up-close inspection and distant viewing. A relaxed yet refined statement piece that will add warmth and presence to your living room, hallway, or office.
