This is a painting of a charming adobe wall and entry gate in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The city of Santa Fe is unique in the adobe-style architecture that is prevalent in the city center and the architecture of Santa Fe is one of the reasons the city is so popular as a tourist destination. The adobe-style architecture developed from early Native American dwellings built by people who that lived in the area now known as New Mexico. Strict zoning laws have protected the architectural identify of Santa Fe. I have spent a lot of time in Santa Fe and have taken my children there over the years since they were babies. I noticed this entry gate to a home near one of the parks where my kids enjoy being outdoors. I love the colorful flowers in the potted plants, and how they contrast against the peachy adobe walls. The stained wood gate is also beautiful.
