When I was in college, I took a field biology class. We took a field trip for that class in the spring to the Pitt Ranch in central California. While I was there, the hills around the ranch looked beautiful as they were covered with poppies and lupine in bloom. I snapped a number of photos with my camera during the trip and decided to paint from them 25 years later. This piece is called "Spring Renewal."
