"Under those Walls" is just that... the old house, the old abandoned farm house... if those walls could talk, What would they say?
My work consists of, but not all containing; found objects, image transfers, using the attributes of the wax layer upon layer, the inscribing and carving of the wax itself. The play on depth with slight transitions of colours add complexity and depth within the surface of my paintings, creating a translucent history, an illusion of deep perspective; stirring a memory or an emotion for the viewer.
The dance with the molten wax back and forth embarks me on a journey to the mystery of the 'not knowing'. While working I keep myself in a fluid balance between meditation and examination until a satisfying equilibrium is reached. Not knowing when the piece is done until it is worked and reworked when that journey is complete. The hands-on labor and the intensive process leaves me with pieces that have many layers of mystery and metaphor, with my aim to create a calm core within disarray.
