Autumn color sweeps across the high country between Taos and Santa Fe in the November wind outside Madrid, NM.
This rapidly changing New Mexico sunset painted the high desert in the deep rich colors of fall. We sat on the tailgate of our pickup sipping wine from paper cups and watched elk coming down from the mountains. I think they must've admired the sunset as much as we did as they grazed beneath the energetic sweeping clouds building to a sunset crescendo.
