Much of my development and growth has been about overcoming deeply ingrained messages to be the model minority—be quiet, work hard, and never ask for too much. My immigrant upbringing was rooted in a scarcity mindset and fear of the world. It’s been a journey to overcome these limiting beliefs, to learn how to take up space and advocate for myself, and to most importantly, dream bigger. I’ve had to get comfortable operating in fear and to know her deeply.
Being Fearless does not mean to be without fear, but to have the courage to face the things that scare you. Fear is normal and is an indicator that the thing you’re pursuing is what you truly desire. This sculpture embodies those brave moments of triumph over our fears and limiting beliefs.
