Scandinavian/Swedish Origin: In Scandinavian languages, particularly Swedish, Kallan (from Källan) means “stream,” “river,” or “source,” evoking images of flowing water and tranquility.
The Common Eland, also known as the southern eland or eland antelope, is a large-sized savannah and plains antelope found in East and Southern Africa. An adult male is around 1.6 m tall at the shoulder and can weigh up to 942 kg with a typical range of 500–600 kg, 340–445 kg for females.
When I saw this Eland skull from one of my suppliers on Etsy, I knew I had to have it. The skull and the horns are just magnificent.
