Lincoln’s humble origins and rise from log cabin to president made him an especially meaningful choice for the penny, the coin most Americans would use in daily life—highlighting that greatness and opportunity could come from any background. The portrait also serves as a constant reminder of the values Lincoln embodied, such as honesty, equality, and perseverance.
This guy required some TLC to restore him. He had lost the majority of the front of his snout somewhere in his travels. I reconstructed his snout, then created a figure 8 pattern with fossilized coral cabochons and a druizy stone, shaped like a heart.
