This grew out of my love for the hue of viridian green and of its ability to carry both weight, lightness, and transparency. As I worked, a dark, sun-like orb began to emerge—a presence rising out of a landscape that felt part sci-fi, part dream. I kept this. Then, I added swirling dots with my Posca markers to echo photons and tiny packets of light, the invisible dance I imagine happening all around us.
On the right, a small cluster of white speckled light appeared almost on its own, pushing through the darker tones. I held onto that moment because it felt like a quiet metaphor for hope: even the smallest light insists on coming forward. This little 6x6 study reflects that feeling for me—a moving landscape where light always finds its way home.
