“Eye Ladder” came together as a playful mix of intuition and curiosity. The central eye felt like a presence watching—maybe not judging, just witnessing—while the scratchy, fragile ladders rose toward another terrain. I kept wondering: Are we being invited upward? Or are we simply seeing our One Self reflected, like a house of mirrors?
The speckled marks, as in all of the Moments, around the eye emulate electrons of possibility—those tiny quantum sparks that show up so often in my work. I’ve always enjoyed how artist Yayoi Kusama used eyes, and perhaps that affinity slipped in here. This small study holds a sense of mystery and movement, a reminder that something is always waiting for us to climb, to look closer, or to rise.
