I use paper to try out colour palettes and compositions as a warm up before moving on to a canvas, these often turn into little works of art in themselves. I also love the different quality that results from working on paper. The country around me is not all that hilly but it is undulating and the view from my studio to the east of a late afternoon as the sun is setting is a magnificent pink colour reflecting on the lake (when there's water in it!) and the hills in the distance.
