I use paper to try out colour palettes and compositions as a warm up before moving on to a canvas, these often turn into little works of art in themselves. I also love the different quality that results from working on paper. A purely abstract exploration of my favourite colours pink and red. I am habitually drawn to these colours in a lot of my work so I was intrigued to find out why. This is what I found - The color pink represents compassion, nurturing and love. It relates to unconditional love and understanding, and the giving and receiving of nurturing. Well who knew, I must be a bit more of a softie than I thought but I can relate because this is how I feel about my family. This can be part of a diptych with Pink Skies II.
