This painting started as a true abstract. As the marks were made fish emerged. I leaned into that & created texture with netting. My husband & I were recently invited out on our friend’s boat to catch shrimp in the Puget Sound. Boating in Puget Sound was a rare treat. I had sea life on my mind. We try to be mindful of our recycling and the impact our trash has on the environment. Reduce, Reuse & Recycle being burned into my consciousness from my son’s school days leading to me often looking for ways to use various bits and pieces of random things in my art. For this one abstract painting, an adventure on a boat and being mindful of reusing materials merged together.
