Beautiful Ibo Jug from Nigeria. Part of old private collection from The Netherlands (started late 1960’s). Acquired by the owner’s parents and thence by descent to the present owner.
Originally from the collection from the Congregation of the Holy Spirit in The Netherlands. Items were obtained directly from Mr Jan van Croonenburg from the congregation.
A lot of the items were from the Rome Collection. Mr Piet Bukkems and Mr Jan van Croonenburg requested part of that collection to be moved to Berg en Dal for the use of opening the Afrika Museum (initiated 1954).
