Created specifically for the "Outside the Box: Reimagined," art auction event to help support the Placer Artists Tour.

The challenge was to start with standard issued pieces to create a box and go from there. Those beginning pieces became the base of this artwork, which I then added sixteen different wood structures to, carefully trimming and fitting them all together. In my typical style, the work includes photo transfers and mixed media.

An ongoing theme in my work is that nature is our true home, which we should be caring for and maintaining. All of the images included here are from my local walks in and around Placer County, and a careful observer will find many native species, just like taking a walk through nature.
