Sometimes I paint places I have been, or I paint places I want to be. This is a peaceful place I wanted to be the day I started the painting. Sunflowers always make me happy, so I exagerated their prominence. The moored sailboat symbolizes resting, with no urgent need to go anwhere. The house on the hill indicates a location that is quiet and residential, and the stream has a brick wall, offering support and a sense of permanence to the landscaped areas . The water in the stream is moving anough to be calming, but not so fast as to interrupt my peace.
