Part of the Earthskin series, this work explores the balance between control and organic movement. The surface is first woven on a loom using raffia fibres, creating a structured base. Once the tapestry is complete, I shape it with my hands and scissors, sculpting it into soft, rounded forms.
I am interested in how opposites—structure and softness, control and instinct, discipline and freedom—can coexist within one surface. The piece becomes a meeting point between human touch and natural rhythm, where intention gives way to flow. It reflects a quiet collaboration with the material, suggesting a way of being in dialogue with nature rather than in opposition to it, a kind of attunement to the rhythms that already exist and a recognition of the harmony that can emerge when human and natural forces move together.
