TRANSLUCENT 1
Translucent 1 is a sculptural work conceived as an installation, made of washi paper on a metal structure, with a core of LED light pulsating from within. Its translucent nature transforms the piece into a living body of light and paper, where the fragility of the material interacts with the light energy, generating a visual body in constant flux.
The work was part of the scenographic elements of PERPEUMM, a creation by the Manuela Nogales Danza company, performed at the Auditorium of the Royal Artillery Factory in Seville. In this context, Translucent 1 not only functioned as an autonomous sculpture but also as an atmospheric space that accompanied the movement of the bodies on stage, projecting a poetic dimension between the material and the intangible.
In its interaction with light, the paper takes on the appearance of an expanding organism: the folds and textures evoke an organic growth that, like a breath or a heartbeat, unfolds outwards. Thus, the piece becomes a metaphor for life, a bridge between the stillness of matter and the energy of movement, between visual contemplation and theatrical experience.
