Pont Neuf & the Louvre

The Louvre at Pont Neuf is one of my favorite scenes in Paris and I have painted it often. To show a more unique and interesting approach, the composition was simplified and the colors were changed to a limited palette to work with what I had planned for the sky. For the sky shape, genuine silver leaf was applied over an under-painting of blue grey to enhance the shine of the rooftops and to create interest in the buildings.
