This is an often photographed scene of PONT NEUF. It is painted on rice paper in watercolor using a batik-type technique. The design must be broken into 5 simple values. Working light to dark, you first paint the lightest shape and then paint that shape with wax. Each subsequent layer is done in a similar manner until the entire painting is covered with wax. You do not really know what it will look like until you iron off the wax. Planning is the key! This painting was accepted into the ‘Salon of Drawings & Painting’ at the Grand Palais, Paris, France in 2019.
