This is a painting I completed during my first winter in Rochester, NY. I was somewhat overwhelmed, but in awe of all the snow and couldn't seem to stop painting it. I didn't want to add too much color beyond the blues/grays and light whites to this painting because I wanted to show the contrast of Lake Ontario in the winter versus summer months. In the summer there are so many greens and when the sun is out the lake looks a lot like the ocean to me.
