I'm continually fascinated with the inherent beauty of some of the simplest of objects. This old baseball, as you can probably tell from the color of the leather, has been around for quite a few years. I've wanted to make some paintings of it for a while now, and this past week, as the pro teams are in the playoffs and hoping to take how a trophy, seemed as good a time as any to let this ball become a model in the studio.
