Driving home from Bendigo after visiting my ill mother, I spotted a rainbow. It was over Carlsruhe, where my Grandfather's family had a farm back in the day. Suddenly I felt a surge of joy and peace come over me. It was exquisitely beautiful. A childlike sense of wonder filled my body as I thought about the gold at the end of the rainbow. What would it look like? What could the treasure be?
To me rainbows are mysterious. They come and go quickly yet leave an impact. They remind us of the fleeting nature of life and that there is so much we can't control. That there is so much beauty in the world if we just keep remaining alive and open to it.
Grateful for this reminder that there is so much to keep living for, I painted the rainbow amongst the soul artifacts held by the blue sky. It makes me smile whenever I look at it.
