Born to Dutch dairy farmers in LA, lived life cross-culturally, especially in Africa , now pursuing my first love, making art.
MessageI have a friend and mentor who taught me a lot.
We worked very hard together—80 workshops in 19 countries over 22 years.
Somehow our chemistry worked, and things usually went better when we were together. We developed a pedagogical style and published several textbooks together.
It was work that brought energy, laughter, travel, and adventure.
And, at 5:00 p.m. every day, no matter where we were in the world, it was time to go out for a walk. A walk about, that is. No goal in mind, just being outside, moving our bodies, taking in the sights and sounds, and sometimes a lot of exhaust fumes.
It’s one of the many recipes for happiness that I learned from my friend.
