Gail Hoban
Saffron Walden, Essex
Gail draws trees, lichen, fungi and native wild plants and the resilience of overlooked nature with a ballpoint pen to communicate about land and nature access.
MessageGail watches birds from her back room every morning. It’s part of her morning ritual as an early riser, watching the light increase, the sun rise, the birds start to sing and then get ready to take off. This Monoprint reminds her of the waiting and watching. With this lovely medium the ink quality helped to create shapes like birds. The dark brown colour palette gives a timeless quality to the image.
This is one of her prints from a workshop with Fiona Fouhy February 2025 at East London Printmakers.
