Gail has a deep connection to the natural environment near to her North Essex home and wants to share her love of nature on the doorstep. She regularly wanders through local woodlands, inspired by tiny seasonal changes and organic patterns. Gail’s work shows an interest in land use and access to nature, how it is shared or prohibited by landowners. She is interested in how access is communicated through manmade signs giving a negative or positive experience to our outdoors life. Gail draws trees, lichen, fungi and native wild plants and the resilience of overlooked nature with a ballpoint pen.
