Gail Hoban
Saffron Walden, Essex
Gail draws trees, lichen, fungi and native wild plants and the resilience of overlooked nature with a ballpoint pen to communicate about land and nature access.
MessageA loud sign warning the public away from areas of nature.
This sign is alongside one of the artist's regular walks, a cordoned off piece of nature.
Lichen has grown in the shape of bullet holes, not sure if they are clustered around the edge of actual bullet holes accentuating them. Either way Gail is not venturing further into the woods to find out. The intricate drawing of surrounding nature contrasts with the bold yellow and black stark sign.
