Gail Hoban
Saffron Walden, Essex
Gail draws trees, lichen, fungi and native wild plants and the resilience of overlooked nature with a ballpoint pen to communicate about land and nature access.
MessageThe angled framing of the natural world gives an eerie view on the natural world beyond the dark shelter. In this sliced view of Pardon Wood, Essex, the tree proudly guards the habitat from the viewer. Are we too late? It appears the birds have been told to hide from view and the trees remain as the guardians. Heavy energetic black ink mark making frames the softer acrylic and salt wash view of the golden lit woodland.
