Gail Hoban
Saffron Walden, Essex
Gail draws trees, lichen, fungi and native wild plants and the resilience of overlooked nature with a ballpoint pen to communicate about land and nature access.
MessageOne of the many obstructions on the artist's wanderings. This time an urban walk blockage. She was trying to track down nature signs she had designed on the New River Path in Enfield, but this blocked her way. Further unfriendly signs greeted walkers 50m further, about CCTV and loose dogs.
This piece the sign stands strong against the natural backdrop, the complexity of texture in the natural backdrop and the flat cold sign.
