This piece, like its predecessor "Becoming (No. 1)" is inspired by the quote, "Let me fall if I must. The woman I am becoming will catch me." from Ba'al Shem Tov. This piece is a physical representation of self-love. It was mostly created with acrylic paint, with acrylic ink, Posca paint markers, and oil pastels. The larger canvas allowed for larger and broader brushstrokes and was painted entirely in a spirit of play and exploration -- allowing for mistakes (falling) followed by responses (catching). May we all hold such love and wonder in our hearts, that we may feel safe and learn to trust ourselves.
