Don Gorvett came to Portsmouth from Ogunquit to draw in the 1990s. Many of the Portsmouth drawings are designs for both the color reduction woodcut and single-color woodcuts. This drawing has been in a private home until recently. Two reduction woodcuts, "Shore Line Heritage" and "Bow Streets Vanished View," are derived from this drawing.
Don Gorvett has always been fascinated with the shoreline of the Piscataqua River and the architectural remnants along Bow Street. Don executed many drawings of Bow Street, of which many are in private collections.
