Don printed this reduction woodcut in the studio that occupied the back portion of his first gallery Piscataqua Fine Arts, on Ceres Street, in Portsmouth, NH. The subject, a Boston fishing trawler named Thomas Whalen, was initially depicted as a tempera painting as part of a series of Boston Harbor studies done in the spring of 1968.
