Adaptation
Adaptation is a series with the challenge of not allowing the form to reach the outer edges of the canvas. Part of the Materialize show where the forms from the paintings meet the three-dimensional sculpture forms.
Circulate
The ideas of circulation and flow, and how these words are used to describe my creative process, have become integral to my artistic practice. This circulation of energy -whether positive or negative- in response to our daily lives and the circumstances of our current political and social climate affects each of us. My work, by its nature, is fueled by this energy via my emotional and physical state, and the process of creating is like a rediscovery of who I am at each moment I come to the canvas.
This circular energy, this flow between myself and the medium creates delicate figures that dance, and attempt to convert energy into physical form. Within the act of applying paint to canvas and styrofoam there is a constant flow that reaches to establish levels of connectivity within myself, my art, and the viewer. This dialogue between art, artist and audience creates a narrative, that flow is continuous.
It circulates.
Conversion
Conversion is a series of intuitive free-moving figures, suspended in color. Restricting the painting from touching the edges of the canvas creates the illusion of a form stopped in time, floating in gravity. Each brushstroke allowing the viewer to flow inward and outward from the created forms.
Festival Instrumental Series
These painting are part of the Festival International Instrument Series which combines the flowing brushwork from my original abstracts to the instruments seen throughout the stages of Festival. The integration of the brushwork, as well as the vibrant color palette, creates an energy that is specific to this music festival.
Festival International 2024
These collection features works available during Festival International April 26-28, 2024. Each year I add to my Festival International Instrument and Musician Series which combines the flowing brushwork from my original abstracts to the instruments and musicians seen throughout the stages of Festival. The integration of the brushwork, as well as the vibrant color palette, creates an energy that is specific to this music festival. Additional collections also available, including pieces from my abstract works and the Seafood Series.
Festival Musician Series
These paintings are part of the Festival International Musician Series which combines the flowing brushwork from my original abstracts with more representational figures. The integration of the brushwork with the figures, as well as the vibrant color palette, creates an energy that is specific to this music festival.
Flux
Flux series showcased at the Big Easel 2022. This series was catered towards a more designer aesthetic with a more muted color palette compared to the usual vibrant series of late.
Innate
The Innate series was created with the intention of combining vibrant colors with various application techniques.
Isolated Series
Isolated series is a continuous series, mainly smaller works, that contain an organic figure free-floating in it's own space. These figures represent a captured emotion that is expressed through color and movement. The focus of this series is on the correlation between the isolation within nature and an individual emotion.
Meandering
Continuing the floating figure within the canvas, this series was created with the intention of having a limited palette. These versus my more energetic work, resemble a serene moment in time.
Portraits
Various portraiture work combining the flowing brushwork from my original abstracts with more representational figures. The integration of the brushwork with the figures, as well as the vibrant color palette, creates an energy that is specific to my work.
Reveling
This series was created with the intention to better balance my figure/ground relationship. In order to emphasize the foreground brushstrokes, the background needed to be softer with more of a color field look to it. Also playing with more palette knife application to increase the texture on the canvas.
Seafood Series
Each artwork in this collection highlights the seafood delicacies of Louisiana: the crawfish, oyster, and shrimp. Having grown up on the bayou, these subjects hold a deep connection to my heart, serving as focal points for exploration and reflection.
Using a technique known as contour drawing, I’ve worked to capture the essence of each subject. With each stroke of my pencil, I create a continuous line, never lifting it from the surface until the entire form is complete. Once the drawing phase is finished, I layer each piece with acrylic paint, adding depth and vibrancy to every composition.
Surface
Surface was a collaboration piece involving my large scale painting, body painting, and choreographed dance. The performance originated from a dancer being blended into one of my paintings, which she then emerged and danced in correlation with my brushstrokes. The project went much further and became part of a ticketed theater event that ran for three separate nights.
Influenced by the variety of surfaces which we often paint on and wear, the painting and performance focused around where we locate one's "humanness". The painting color palette and composition was created while the choreography was being produced, heavily influenced by the 7 dancers that were in the company.
The original "Surface" painting was such a success, that a continuation of the series was destined to follow. The color palette selection was based on a cold sunrise which resonated perfectly with the production of the performance.
TOAF Dallas Collection

Yielding
The "Yielding" series explores relentless changes, emerges as a symbol of resilience. This year has required letting go, adapting, and persevering. Through it all, I've discovered a tranquil sanctuary in the act of creation.
Embracing the challenge of breaking free from my artistic comfort zone, I've woven a palette around the trending color of the year, "Apricot." Departing from my familiar blues, these limitations have opened up beauty in unexpected places.
