This was painted at the request of my grandson Rowan. GiGi ,"you should paint a swamp girl with an alligator." Many of my best childhood memories involve trips to Florida and visits to all the wild places and to Alligator World with my beloved grandfather. When I revisit those places in my mind it's a kaleidoscope of Spanish moss and colorful birds, exotic flowers and deep lush greens. This painting is a love letter to Florida and grandparents who have time to honor our small requests and to celebrate just being in the world with us.
