This painting is a celebration of memory. Once as a gift my children led me to the forest where they hiked and showed me the secret they had been keeping. A nest of fledgling owls, learning to fly under the watchful eyes of their parents. Huge beautiful creatures, beings from another realm. We sat watching them soar through the deep green pine forest of the Pacific northwest. A moment of reverence and wonder for the natural world.. .In this painting a woman merges with the forest, a quiet meditation on transformation and mystery.
