I had this work (in its unfinished state) in my studio for a very long time, I think at least two years. Time and again I picked it up - and putted it down again and again. I was just missing that crucial spark, the idea for the next step. But sometimes things just need time: When I was working with a beautiful gray-green-brown in other paintings this spring, it became clear that it belonged here as well. And voilà: It grounds the work, makes the strong pink appear even stronger and helps the delicate rose and turquoise shine!
It's like with us humans, depending on who we surround ourselves with, we shine even brighter!
