This work continues a series shaped by the idea of moving beyond prescribed boundaries — visually, conceptually, and intuitively. As children, we are taught to color “nicely,” to stay inside the lines, to follow rules before creativity. And while values like kindness and responsibility remain essential, there is also a call to think big and wild, to pursue one’s own voice, dreams, and direction.
The “She Paints Outside the Lines” series embodies exactly that spirit: bold, confident, and unapologetically independent. A visual reminder to trust your instincts, find your own path and walk it with confidence.
What began as a single exploration has grown into a full series, driven by my deep fascination with the theme and with the freedom of working on paper. The immediacy of the material, the unfiltered gestures, and the openness of the process have drawn me in completely. This format allows for a raw, intuitive approach — one that invites spontaneity, embraces imperfection, and captures the energy of painting outside the lines.
The dimensions listed refer to the net format. The works are in fact taller: the screws sit approximately 5 cm above the 180 cm mark, bringing the total height to around 190 cm. There is also one drill hole on each side (left and right).
Works on paper typically show signs of handling even when new, such as slightly bumped edges or corners. These are an inherent part of the artistic process.
