What happens when you continue works you started years ago. I'm currently working on my stack of unfinished paintings, mainly the smaller formats. Those who have been following me for a while know that I have quite a few of them. On the one hand, I recognize myself in the works I started years ago, but, on the other hand, the existing really influences current technique. Here is a painting I started as part of a series 2018 ("AU CONTRAIRE").
So the early stage I've been working on was 7 (!!!) years old. The result is a soft yet powerful painting. The light, pale pink combined with powerful applied green reminds me of the first sprouts and buds in spring...
Note to myself: Remember 7 years for the next time someone asks how long it took to finish a painting.
