The sweeping motion of the markings on this piece is almost an abstract leaf, continuing the theme of nature I have in my art. At the time, I was listening to a song by an American rapper Kendrick Lamar titled “Money Trees”. The vibe of this song complimented the technique I used to create this painting. An interesting fact about the song is on July 4, 2016, Lamar performed “Money Trees” at President Obama’s Fourth of July BBQ.

The color of purple is not associated with nature typically. Instead, the color purple relates to the imagination and spirituality. It is an introspective color, allowing us to get in touch with our deeper thoughts. These are the same emotions that art and nature provide to me.
